11/6/06, the living room of my duplex: I have to read quite a few scholarly articles for the classes in my curriculum, and I've come to realize how annoying most scholars are. Scholars spend about twice as much time in school than the rest of us in order to get Ph.D.s, which supposedly make them smart or something. What Ph.D.s really do is prevent any of these scholars from having to get real jobs. Most people who graduate college with a bachelor's degree go into the workforce to manufacture goods or provide services. Instead of being productive like the rest of us, scholars sit in a university office, preach their opinions to college students, and work on getting articles published in some journal. Most of the time, these articles criticize what some other scholar said and invent ambiguous-sounding terms to fix problems. Maybe if scholars got off of their hineys and did something for a change, the problems about which they complained would actually get fixed.
