8/18/07, the business building at my school: Man, Y2K sure was a huge embarrassment. Everybody got all scared that the world was going to end because of a possible computer glitch, then nothing happened. The only people who came out ahead were non-perishable food distributers and flashlight manufacturers. The Wikipedia page on the matter states that over 300 billion U.S. dollars were spent on preventing the so-called impending disaster. That page also lists a few mishaps, none of which were monumental. Anyway, I think the whole ordeal was kind of a letdown.
