Chivalry

I am a knight. I fight
for a feudal lord. Is that right?
I know not; I care not.
In many battles have I fought.
Thousands of peasants have I slaughtered,
killing them and later raping their daughters.
I am the feudal warrior ideal,
who conquers his foes on the battlefield.
Honor and glory I win for my lord;
with more wealth, more pleasures he can afford.
Though outwardly stated, war is not a need;
rather, it feeds the upper-class greed.

Ah, the Poetics.
