"Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off of your goal."

I think Mr. Ford was trying to say that obsticle will distract and intimadate you so that you lose sight of what you are striving for.

There is a computer game I have that relates to this. There is a mission on this game that requires you to lead Joan of Arc along a road till you reach the designated castle. Along the way there are fortification soldiers and archers that you must defeat in order to progress. This relates because when you ingage the soldiers you forget completely about getting to the castle.

Henry Ford obviously had some sort of problem he had to face in order to reach his goals. These problems probably made him a better person when he overcame them. With every goal comes obsticles, and with every obsticle comes a solution. The trick is to find what the solutions are.
