A Dog, a Book, and a Man

"Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read."

Why would you be trying to read on the inside of a dog? How would you even get swallowed by a dog. It would have to be the size of Clifford or something if you even wanted to be swallowed whole. Even if you were swallowed alive, how would you even be able to take a book with you? And even if you had one, why would you be thinking about reading when you would have much bigger problems to worry about. If you had been swallowed the intestinal juices would already by chewing through your skin. You would be rithing in pain as the acid slowly ate through your soft tender flesh. Ouch! That would hurt a lot.
